FIVE TOWNS FORMING A MARINE PARK
Four coastal towns (Carry-le-Rouet, Sausset-les-pins, Le Rove and Ensuès-la-Redonne) grouped together in 1983 to create a
Marine Park, where fishing, scuba diving and mooring are prohibited. This was one of the first such protected areas in Europe.
Its aim is to manage and protect these areas that are important breeding sites for marine wildlife.
Ensuès-la-Redonne, the Calanque of Blaise Cendrars
"In any case it was a waste of time since I never did anything, I was never so happy as at La Redonne", wrote Blaise Cendrars
in the stricken man. Even at the height of summer this remains a quiet spot.

Carry-le-Rouet and its beaches
Once you have passed the area of inlets and Calanques you come to a region with wider open bays. Carry is a small fishing port
of more than 5000 inhabitants with its Casino and its marina where opened many restaurants. A big beach called "Le Rouet" and other beaches at La tuilière, Cap Rousset and Eaux salées have all the infrastructure needed to welcome holidaymakers.

Sausset, among the pine trees
Here is another delightful little port, overlooked by a Château built in 1855. The centre, with its pedestrian streets, its cafés terraces beside the port and its small traditional market, have enabled the town to preserve its sleepy lifestyle. Sausset is ideal for fishing and snorkelling. It is also a good and reputed windsurfing spot.
